How are Italian festivals evolving?

Nowadays the very concept of the festival is undergoing a transformation, becoming increasingly open to exploring unknown areas and new landscapes in a quest for fresh new formulas.
With its multimedia approach and enhancement of the local area, you could say that Open Sound Festival is at the forefront of the festival world: a musical parade which combines tools invented thousands of years ago with electronic sounds. The setting: Matera2019, with its rocks dug out of the stone and its canyons. Come si stanno evolvendo i festival in Italia? Oggi il concetto stesso di festival è in trasformazione, sempre più aperto all’esplorazione di aree sconosciute e di nuovi scenari, alla ricerca di formule inedite.

Dalla multimedialità alla valorizzazione del territorio, Open Sound Festival può essere considerato una nuova avanguardia dei festival: una parade musicale che unisce strumenti inventati migliaia di anni fa con suoni elettronici.
