Roberto Iovino

Roberto Iovino (1953), Genoese, graduated in mathematics and graduated in Choral Music and Choir Conducting, from 1980 to 2018 he was professor of music history at the Conservatory “N. Paganini “of Genoa, Institute in which he held the position of director in the four-year period 2014/2018.He also teaches “Music Education” at the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Genoa. Music critic, he collaborates with “La Repubblica”, with the Ansa and, since its foundation, with “Il Giornale della musica”.For his musicological studies, he received the “Luigi Illica International Award 1998”. He has been the artistic director of the “Premio Paganini” International violin competition. Among his publications are: Mascagni, the adventurous of the opera (Milan, 1987), Gli Strauss (Florence, 1998), Giuseppe Verdi genovese (edited by R.Iovino and S.Verdino, Lucca, 2000), Music and musicians in history (Genoa, 2002), Niccolò Paganini, a Genoese in the world (with F.Oranges, Genoa, 2004), Culinary Symphony (with I.Mattion, Milan, 2006, finalist at the “Premio Bancarella cucina”, 2007), Musical Conversations (with E.Sanguineti, Genova, 2011), Verdi & Shakespeare, a dialogue (with M.Sciaccaluga, Genova, 2013) and Paganini, graphic-novel (in collaboration with Nicole Olivieri, Gino Andrea Carosini and Marco Mastroianni, 2018)
